Oct. 24: Work with a partner to review your cover. Look for typography issues (kearning, shadow, etc) Look at imagery, effects, layering along with required information (see rubric). Make suggested edits / changes. Fill out Rubric and upload as a .pdf with the Turn it in on this website, then save as .jpg and post to your portfolio page of your website. Next: Soccer Logo. Gather 5 logos for inspiration and start sketching ideas. We will be designing a soccer logo for the Cal High girls soccer team. The logo needs to be in illustrator. It needs to be orange, black & white. It needs to include a shield shape. It needs to include wither grizzly soccer or cal soccer. It can have a soccer ball and it can include the school mascot. It will be used for uniforms, fan gear, etc. Oct. 26: Critique vs Criticism Today we will watch a video, discuss the differences between critique and criticism, and practice giving really useful feedback.
Oct. 26 & 28: Class Presentations / Soccer Logo We will start presenting DVD covers and giving & receiving useful feedback. Present your Horror DVD cover to a panel of "experts" for feedback. All students will participate as presenter and as a panel member. When we are done, we will work on your soccer logo.

Oct. 18: Continue working on your DVD Cover. Review videos as needed. Today we will be working with your credits. Take the first 15 minutes to type out your text using the attached template. Oct. 10: Horror DVD Cover Project Start to watch the videos to create DVD cover for a horror movie. Start creating concepts and build a plan/sketch or develop your idea. Think of imagery, type, and an overall idea. For next class you will need: A main image, a secondary image that can be faded/blended with the main image, and one image with only grunge texture (concrete, peeling paint, etc.).
Oct. 14: Continue working on your DVD Cover. Review videos as needed. Oct. 4: Typography Treatments for Horror DVD Start to thinking of a concept or idea for your Horror DVD Cover. WE will do the 3D effect as a class, then you choose one of the other two to complete. Post 2 text treatments to your blog for 10 pts.
Oct. 6: Beginning Photoshop Assignment: Photoshop Pumpkin Face You need to source your 2 images - one of a child & one of a pumpkin Next, follow the pdf instructions to put a face on a pumpkin. Save as .psd, then as a .jpg and post to your blog.
